Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti Shri Prahlad Singh Patel has emphasised that India is one of the fastest-growing economies with many investment opportunities, especially in the food processing sector. Breifing the media on second edition of World Food India 2023 in New Delhi today he said World Food India is an effort towards projecting potential of the sector before global stakeholders. He pointed out that the event is a unique example of whole of the Government collaborative approach, as 11 central Ministries/ Departments & their associated autonomous bodies are participating in it.

On September 7, 2023, World Food India organisers team successfully concluded a domestic roadshow in Mumbai. The event was attended by Dr Jitendra Dongre from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, and several industry stakeholders and associations, including Forum of Indian Food Importers , Hospitality Purchasing ManagersForum - HPMF and Retailers Association of India (RAI) . Chef Ashish Bhasin and Chef Rakhee Vaswani also attended the event, where they were apprised about the highly-anticipated mega food expo, World Food India 2023, the flagship event of MoFPI.

At a recent roundtable, co-chaired by ??? ????? ???????, Secretary, MOFPI Government of India and ?? ??????? ?????, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Food Processing Industries and Horticulture, Government of West Bengal, Invest India shared valuable information about the sector and the significance of millets. They also invited participation in ????? ???? ????? ????, a flagship event of MoFPI.

Shri Sanoj Kumar Jha, Addl Secy of MOFPI, along with representatives from Invest India and FICCI had a meeting with Mr Tust Thangsombat, President of the Thai Food Processor's Association in Bangkok. The objective was to discuss expanding business opportunities in the Indian food processing sector and their potential participation in World Food India 2023. The team also met with senior leaders of the Thai Union Group in Bangkok, Thailand, to gain insight into the country & policy and business ecosystem. The meeting resulted in a cordial invitation to participate in World Food India, a flagship event of MoFPI at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, scheduled for November 3-5, 2023.

The next day team also met with the Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration in Bangkok, Thailand. They discussed Thailand's licensing procedures and regulatory ecosystem and invited them to participate in  WFI 2023. 

Shri ????? ????? ???, Addl Secy of MOFPI, and Invest India team met with Mr. ??????? ?????????????, Vice President of CP Vietnam-Corporation in Vietnam. During the interaction, they discussed Vietnam policy and business ecosystem and invited them to participate in mega food event from ???????? 3-5, 2023, ?? ??????? ?????? ?? ??? ?????. The next day ???? ????? ????? ???, Addl Secy of MOFPI, and the Invest India team met also with Mr ?? ??? ??, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in Vietnam, to discuss potential collaborations in the food-processing sector and to extend a gracious invitation to participate in World Food India.

?? ????? ????? ???, Additional Secretary at the ???????? ?? ???? ?????????? ??????????, ??? chaired the ‘???????? ???????? ????’ in Nashik, Maharashtra. More than 60 leading Agri-Food companies attended the meet organised by #MOFPI and #KCCI. Also in attendance were ????? ???? ?????’? Investment Facilitation Partner, Invest India and Event partner, FICCI ,who led a discussion on the upcoming mega food event to be held from the ??? ?? ??? ??? ?? ???????? ?? ??????? ??????, ??? ?????.

A regional industry meet was held in Bengaluru, which was chaired by Additional Secretary Shri Sanoj Kumar Jha. Organized by Invest India, the event saw a participation over 20 key industry players, who were briefed about World Food India, as their participation was sought. The event also witnessed the presence of Deputy Secretary Shri Vikram Kesharee Pradhan and representatives from FICCI.

A meeting, chaired by Secretary MoFPI Smt Anita Praveen was held earlier today at Panchsheel Bhawan, New Delhi, to discuss the Technology Pavilion at World Food India 2023. Attending the event were the leading players in food processing technology in the presence of Additional Secretary Shri Sanoj Kumar Jha and Additional Secretary Shri Minhaj Alam.

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) participated in Millets Fair at Chandigarh on 7th July 2023. On the sidelines of the Millet Fair, Food Processing Industry Interactive Meet was also arranged that attracted participation of 60+ stakeholders from the industry and relevant government departments. The event was graced by the presence of Sh. Preetapal Singh, JS, MoFPI, Sh. Mukul Kumar, IAS, Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Govt of Haryana and other officials from APEDA, FSSAI, NSIC, SIDBI and IIMR. Invest India team gave presentation on World Food India 2023 and interacted with the industry stakeholders.

Addl. Secretary FPI Shri Sanoj Kumar Jha chaired a regional industry meet organized by KCCI in Ahmedabad and interacted with 38 companies engaged in the agri-food and allied sectors. Invest India gave a detailed presentation on the upcoming mega event World Food India 2023 which is being organized between 3rd to 5th November 2023 at Pragati Maidan. PMKSY scheme guidelines, benefits available for MSME entrepreneurs, promotion of value-added millet products, etc. were discussed during the roundtable interaction.

An investor roundtable interaction was co-chaired by the Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), and the Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) with agri-food companies in New Delhi.

The roundtable witnessed participation from the leading global and Indian food processing companies, senior government officials along with organizations associated with organizing the event (Invest India, FICCI, & EY).

During the interaction, the future plans of the participating companies and their prospects of partnerships with MoFPI for the WFI-2023, being organized from 3-5 November 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, were discussed

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries held the 2^nd Inter-Ministerial Committee Meeting on World Food India-2023 at Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, New Delhi. Additional Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Shri Minhaj Alam, chaired the meeting with senior representatives from Ministries/Departments/Commodity Boards. The meeting witnessed participation from the senior officials of key central government ministries and departments. All the participants were apprised of developments in preparations for World Food India-2023, being organized between 3^-5 November, 2023 in New Delhi. The meeting was held in continuation to the interaction held with the Committee members in May 2023.

Smt Anita Praveen, Secretary, MOFPI chaired the Industry Meet as a part of Millet Mahotsav in Patna, Bihar, today and interacted with the prominent Industry leaders and Micro Entrepreneurs of Food Processing sector.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries today organized Roundtable with Heads of Foreign Missions in India to discuss overseas participation in the World Food India (WFI) 2023, at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi.

The interaction was co-chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Smt. Anita Praveen, and Special Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Shri Prabhat Kumar. It was attended by Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Charge d' Affaires and other senior representatives from wide spectrum of countries. In all, 47 countries were represented in the interaction.  Senior officers from Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Department of Commerce, APEDA, MPEDA and other Commodity Boards, apart from organizations associated with organizing the event (FICCI, Invest India & EY) participated in the deliberations.

Shri Minhaj Alam, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries chaired the Foreign Missions Meet organised by FICCI on 17th May 2023 at New Delhi. The meeting saw the participation of representatives from over 60 countries, who were briefed about World Food India 2023.

Shri Preet Pal Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries headed a delegation to Spain. The delegation participated in 3 roundtables & 19 one-on-one discussions with various stakeholders and extended an invitation to participate in World Food India 2023.

The North East Food Fest 2023 was organised at Guwahati, Assam by Ministry of Food Processing Industries in association with Assam Industrial Development Corporation Limited (AIDC) and Indian Chamber of Commerce on 29^th, 30^th  and 31^st  March 2023.

Smt. Anita Praveen, Secretary, FPI and other Senior Officials of MOFPI inaugurated MOFPI pavilion at Aahar 2023, , Pragati Maidan Exhibition Centre, New Delhi. The officials visited stalls and interacted with Food Processing Entrepreneurs and Beneficiaries who got the opportunity to exhibit at MoFPI pavilion.

Curtain Raiser Event to WFI 2023 was held today in National Media Centre, New Delhi and was attended by wide spectrum of representatives from Press & Media, various Central Ministries/Departments, State Resident Commissioners & Embassies apart from senior officers of the Ministry. During the event, promotional video, publicity brochure & a dedicated website for WFI 2023 was launched by Shri Pashupati Kumar Paras, Hon’ble Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Govt of India and Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti, Govt of India.

A two-day Millet Mahotsav was organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries at Agra, Uttar Pradesh, from 3-4 March, 2023. The event was inaugurated by Minister of State for Law & Justice, Prof. SP Singh Baghel. Several dignitaries, including Additional Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Shri Minhaj Alam, were also present on the occasion.

A two-day Millets Mahotsav was organized from 28th February to 1st March 2023 at Bhojpur, Bihar. The event was inaugurated by Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Shri Pashupati Kumar Paras. During his inaugural address, Hon’ble Minister stated that due to the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the United Nations declared the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets. The Mahotsav witnessed overwhelming participation from micro food processing enterprises, self-help groups, farmer-producer organizations, producer cooperatives, etc. All participants were invited to actively participate in World Food India 2023 between 3rd to 5th November 2023 at Pragati Maidan New Delhi.

Hon’ble Minister FPI, Shri Pashupati Kumar Paras led an official delegation consists of senior officials from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, representatives of Invest India (as part of Investment Facilitation Cell) and the event partner Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) of the World Food India 2023, to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for participation in Gulfood 2023 and holding a roadshow on the side-lines from 20th to 24th February 2023. During the visit, the delegation interacted with leading agri-food companies and showcased myriad opportunities in Indian food processing sector. Industry players, Government authorities and other relevant stakeholders were also invited to actively participate in World Food India 2023 between 3rd to 5th November 2023 at Pragati Maidan New Delhi.

Anita Praveen chaired a roundtable interaction with representatives of Indian industry associations and requested them to support the Ministry with the activities related to upcoming mega international food event World Food India 2023 being organised between 3rd to 5th November 2023 at Pragati Maidan New Delhi.

Two-day Millets Conclave organised at Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh to bring all the stakeholders of the food processing sector with special focus on millets, on a common platform and and encompassed a wide range of activities like exhibition and sale of various millet-based products, informative sessions on millet processing, interactive sessions between industry experts and micro food processing enterprises, SHGs, FPOs engaged in food processing, Buyer Seller Meet.

Hon’ble Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel inaugurated Millets Mahotsav at Mandla, Madhya Pradesh on 21st January 2023.During the inaugural address, Hon’ble MoS FPI touched upon the importance of millets and the immense market potential for millet-based value-added products. The event witnessed an overwhelming response with more than 1000 participants attending the event including micro food processing enterprises, self-help groups, farmer producer organizations, producer cooperatives, etc.

Roundtable of Secretary, FPI, with Embassies and High Commissions in India Secretary, FPI, Smt. Anita Praveen chaired a roundtable interaction with Foreign Missions in India on Thursday at Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, New Delhi. The roundtable witnessed participation from representatives of19 Foreign Missions in India which included HE Ambassadors of Serbia, Myanmar, and senior officials from New Zealand, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Australia, Japan, South Africa, Canada, Netherlands, and Mexico. Representatives from all countries were requested to create awareness about the event amongst senior policy makers, agri-food companies, academia etc. in their respective countries and actively participate as a Partner to make the event a grand success.

Secretary, FPI, Smt. Anita Praveen chaired a roundtable interaction with representatives of international industry associations / business chambers / trade agencies from 13 countries on the activities related to Mega Food Event 2023 on Thursday, 12th January 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, New Delhi. International associations /business chambers were encouraged to leverage their network and extend additional support via combined promotional activities through the upcoming events planned by respective agencies. All the participants were keen on partnering with the Ministry and supporting them with various activities planned as a precursor to World Food India 2023.

Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Smt Anita Praveen chaired a roundtable interaction with senior officials from central ministries and departments on 15th December 2022 at Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, New Delhi. All the central ministries and departments were requested to share suggestions on the planned sessions of the Mega Food Event and participate in the event actively as well as support the Ministry in awareness creation, embark participation of senior policy makers, financial institutions, agri-food companies, FPOs / SHGs and all relevant stakeholders to make the event a grand success.

Resident commissioners and / or senior officials from 19 states were informed about Ministry’s plan to organize a mega food event World Food India 2023 which would provide a platform for the States and UTs to showcase State / UT-specific opportunities, interact with global and domestic business leaders, suppliers, purchasers, and technology providers for collaborations, and generate investment & sourcing interests across the value chain of food processing and food retail sectors. States & UTs were also requested to participate actively in the event, as well as support the Ministry in creating awareness, ensuring participation of senior policy makers, agri-food companies, FPOs / SHGs and all relevant stakeholders in the mega food event.

The agenda of the roundtable was to apprise the Ministry’s plan of action as well as gather inputs of the industry players for the series of events to be organized throughout the year until the proposed World Food India 2023. The roundtable witnessed participation from NIFTEMS and over 25 prominent industry players in the Agri food sector covering sub-segments such as RTE/C, Millets, F&V, Marine, Dairy and Nutraceuticals.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) along with its Investor Facilitation Cell (Invest India) participated in SIAL, Paris and interacted with global food processing and allied companies. All stakeholders were briefed about the International Mega Food Event – World Food India schedules in November 2023 and were invited to participate in the same actively.
